MTV Positive Change Award

Internews and MTV announce the launch of the MTV Positive Change Award on creative multimedia coverage of climate change.
Any young person between the ages of 18 and 28, who is passionate about climate change, is invited to apply to a special category of the Earth Journalism Awards specifically designed by MTV and Internews for young creatives.
The winner of the MTV Positive Change Award will be honoured at a high-profile awards ceremony at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December and will be supported by a production team from Internews to cover the pivotal negotiations for youth audiences around the world.
"Transforming our lifestyles in order to reduce the threat of climate change requires a combination of vision, commitment and innovation'' says Paul Smith, Regional Creative Director, Europe, Africa & Middle East, Ogilvy and Mather. "The MTV Positive Change Award is an opportunity for youth around the world to display these qualities through a creative competition that Ogilvy and the advertising community will be following closely."
Since the announcement of the Earth Journalism Awards at the G8 Environment Ministers Meeting in Italy on Earth Day, April 22nd, journalists and bloggers from over 115 countries have signed up for the opportunity to be at the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen. The MTV Positive Change Award gives one highly creative young adult a chance to have their work showcased on the eve of the final negotiations.
"This new award offers an opportunity to young creatives whether they are based in Sao Paulo, New York, Shanghai or Tehran to engage in communication on an issue of crucial importance to their generation," says Agathe Dalisson, the Director of the Earth Journalism Awards, "for they will all inherit the decisions made at Copenhagen. Internews applauds companies like MTV which are investing in creative initiatives like this to help their consumers understand and respond to the challenge of climate change."

Infostrada Sports internship opportunity...
Infostrada Sports is inviting applications of interest from your Communications, Journalism and Media students to become involved with our World Masters Games Event News Service team, through participating in our Biography Research Project internship.
A number of outstanding interns from the Biography Research Project will make the Event News Service Team, with the shortlist to be announced in the lead up to the 2009 World Masters Games.
The Event News Service is a Games-time operation aimed at assisting accredited media in covering the Games by providing a balanced, unbiased information service that includes news reports, press conference highlights and flash quotes.
Event News Service reporters will get to sharpen their basic reporting skills, learn to write breaking news, practice finding story angles under deadline pressure and get hands-on experience at interviewing athletes.
We are looking for interns who will receive training, and then during Gamestime will receive daily briefings and full support as they gather news items.
For the Games-time roles, all interns will need to have their own laptop and Infostrada Sports will provide expenses for those who can use their own car. All communication costs and meals will be provided. Unfortunately, no travel to Sydney or accommodation costs can be met due to the tight budgetary constraints of the project.
To find out how you can get involved with the Biography Research project, please submit a current resume in addition to a cover letter to Internship Coordinator, Hairul Sukaime at hairul.sukaime@infostradasports.com

MyVision TV
Dear students,
My name is Sarah Hickey and I manage the Music & Content for a project called MyVision TV, which has just launched in early April 2009. We are looking for film enthusiasts to contribute to the project, which I will explain briefly below:
MyVision Productions are a film/TV company based on the Gold Coast which specialise in Music Clips and promos. The sister company, MyVision TV, utilises this company’s film skills and resources to film short, documentary-styled episodes on bands/artists when on Australian soil; established and emerging. Over the summer, MyVision TV went along to Good Vibrations and The Laneway Festival, and interviewed artists such as Girl Talk, Cut Off Your Hands, The Drones, The John Steel Singers, Yves Klein Blue, Decoder Ring, Katalyst, Urthboy, Calvin Harris, The Rapture, Tegan & Sara, Wale, The Pharcyde, Q-Tip, TZU, An Horse, I Heart Hiroshima and Holly Throsby and many more coming soon. These documentaries will all be posted on our online music channel, www.myvisiontv.com.au.
On this site, there is a lot of written content to support the video content. This is where we are looking for strong writers and avid music listeners to contribute. Don’t be disillusioned, all contributors have the chance to get along to gigs or to interview bands, if they demonstrate an enthusiasm for the project. Areas that need contribution include:
è Feature Articles
è Gig Reviews (free gigs)
è CD Reviews (Pre-release albums often supplied)
è Artist Profiles (emerging or established)
Attached is a contributors guide with all the information you need to know, if you wish to get in contact with us at MyVision TV. If, after reading all of the available information, the project sounds like something you are interested in, email me at sarah.hickey@myvisiontv.com.au.
Thanks,
Sarah Hickey
