Project Survival Pacific Team

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition has extended applications to be a part of the Project Survival Pacific Team. Applications are now due April 30.

We are recruiting for a Base Team of Aussie Youth Ambassadors to work with Ambassadors placed in the Pacific Island nations in the build up to the critical UN climate negotiations in December 2009.

Despite bearing the brunt of current climate change, small island nations are extremely under resourced in international climate change negotiations. This program creates the opportunity to directly change this situation.

* Support the United Nations negotiators in the Pacific in climate change negotiations
* Work closely with young Australians in Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga and the Solomon Islands
* Raise awareness in Australia about the plight of the Pacific Islands under climate change
* Work with youth in the Pacific to build a Pacific Youth Initiative for Climate Change
* Build strong links to Australian youth organisations
* Attend the United Nations Climate negotiations in Copenhagen (Ambassadors will need to fundraise to cover travel expenses)

To be eligible, you need to be less than 30 years of age, and motivated, passionate and concerned about the future of our climate. We are particularly seeking applications for the following leadership roles: IT Officer, Financial Coordinator, Welfare Officer, Team Coordinator.

Get involved and get inspired!
