Balibo tops AFI Awards
A film about the deaths of six Australian journalists during and immediately after the Indonesian invasion of East Timor in 1975 has topped this year’s AFI Award nominations with 14 nods, including one for best film. Balibo producer John Maynard told the ABC the film has had a strong political impact: "The AFP have reopened the war crimes.
